The expectations have been high in Dallas for the past 3 NFL Picks seasons and still no Superbowl appearances. The Cowboys won the NFC East last year and beat division rival Philadelphia Eagles in the 1st round of the 2010 NFL playoffs before losing badly in the second round to the Minnesota Vikings. Dallas finished the regular season with a 11-5 record and were 9-7 against the spread, going over the betting odds total 6 times and under 10 times. Dallas owner Jerry Jones says that coach Wade
Phillips job is safe but this sports handicapper doesn’t by that at all, I believe this is a make or break year for Phillips. The Cowboy offense was very productive in 2009-10 ranking in the top of the NFL in many categories. The Cowboys ranked 2nd in the NFL in total offense, averaging 399.4 yards per game, 6th in passing yards and 7th in rushing, the team also ranked 14th in scoring with 22.6 points per game. The Defense was equally as good and may have the best overall talent in all of football, especially the run defense which averaged a little over 90 yards per game, the unit also ranked 2nd in points allowed, giving up only 15.6 yards per game, 2nd in the NFL.
The 2010 Dallas Cowboys will not be satisfied with anything less than a Superbowl win but the franchise will be disappointed again. The team drafted wide receiver Dez Bryant out of Oklahoma State University and that was a great move but they guy throwing the ball to him will again struggle in the big game and in mid season Dallas will have to run the football more. Marion Barber and Felix Jones are a very good running back tandem, the offensive line is massive and very talented. Tight end Jason
Witten is an all pro and the wide receivers are good, Miles Austin had a breakout season and Roy Williams is capable, depending on how hard he wants to work. With all of this going Romo will still be average, Dallas needs to find a quarterback that can take them to the next level. On the other side of the ball the Cowboys are just flat out talented with DeMarcus Ware becoming the best outside linebacker in the league, the rest of that unit is also very productive with Bradie James, Keith Brooking and Anthony Spencer. The defensive line is decent and the defensive backs are talented but suspect. cornerbacks Terrance Newman and mike Jenkins could be one of the best tandems in the league but the safeties need a upgrade. The Cowboys will finish in 2nd place in the AFC East behind the surprise Washington Redskins.… Read More
